Profile~Turned pro March 2007 after qualilfying in Barcelona, Spain. "I was 36 when I turned pro, a little late in life some would say. But I hope by me turning pro at this age, will be an inspiration to others who feel they are too old. Golf is a game for all ages and you are never too old to improve to a higher level".
Steve has been playing golf for more than 30 years. He started his playing career at Chingford Golf Club, this was the start of what proved to be a very successful playing career. Steve remembers his first full 18 holes of golf, "It was unreal, I knew from that day I wanted to be a golfer, even though I shot 158. I just kept plugging away and knew I was going to improve". Steve represented Chingford Golf Club at many levels including playing in
The Junior Cup and
Thornton Cup (Both Essex club competitions). He won numerous club competitions including being crowned Club Champion. He partnered in many golf competitions and grew up with current European Tour Player
Simon Khan.
Steve has qualified a record 5 years in a row for London's Royal Mail Golf Team, a record that as far as we know has not been beaten today. "Qualifying was such a buzz for me, the competition really heated up and my first taste for big tournaments was fantastic".
Steve now plays the majority of his golf at
The Hertfordshire Golf Club. "The course is not that long compared to many other courses, but the challenge is great. The first time I played it, I knew one day I wanted to be a part of it. It's a
Jack Nicklaus design course so is very challenging. The greens, tees and fairways are all well looked after by a top team of greenkeepers.
Steve says, "My aim is to help golfers of all levels, age and sex to improve their current ability. I love the game far more than I can say, I understand the ups and downs of golf so well. I will be able to use all my experience to help you get the best from your abilty. I promise you will not be disppointed, I hope to become not only your coach, but also a friend that will follow you on your journey into the world of golf".
